FAQs
What do you offer?
We at Budget Coaching For Everyone are passionate about helping good folks improve their household budgeting, and we want to help you! We offer free face-to-face seminars, which are a low-key way to start thinking about your budgeting, or you can sign up for our fee-based 1-on-1 coaching service if you are at that point in your budgeting change journey. Either way, we want to help you improve your household budget so you can take a breath and then move on with living your best life. It’s as simple as that.
Why are your budgeting seminars free (aka ‘What’s the catch’?)
Great question, and there’s truly no catch.
It doesn’t feel appropriate that the first face-to-face communication we have with you when you’re concerned about money is… a request for money. We are truly passionate about helping our friends and neighbors in Orlando start the journey to improve their household budgets, and don’t want cost to get in the way of that.
So, we made the seminars free. All it takes is a little of your time. Hopefully after that you will feel empowered to start down the path to better manage your household budget, but if you then want to hire us (or anyone else of course) as a budget coach to help you dig into more of the details or keep you on the right budget track, no problem! Check out our paid service offerings here.
Why should I listen to you? What’s the value prop here?
If dealing with your household budget was intuitive no one would be complaining about it on TikTok, no books would be sold about it, no “Celebrity Financial Gurus” would make YouTube careers out of talking about it, and no one would ever struggle with debt or expenses (and you wouldn’t be reading this FAQ…).
Does that sound like the world we live in? Nothing could be further from the truth. Anecdotally, 10% or so of American adults typically “get” money, running a balanced budget with no surprises, and sadly 20% are in true financial crisis, however that leaves 70% who get by each month but don’t feel happy about where they are in their household budgeting, or they are living paycheck-to-paycheck.
Yes, that’s you.
We can help. Check out one of our free seminars or contact us to learn more.
Do you talk about investing? (or taxes, or annuities, or insurance, or…)
No, we don’t. We’re budget coaches, not financial advisors or brokers, so if that’s where you are in your money life we are not the right team for you. There are many great financial advisors out there to help you invest and grow your wealth, or other licensed financial professionals to help with your taxes and insurance needs.
When’s the next free Budgeting Seminar?
Sooner than you think! You can find the latest schedule here.
Why aren’t your budgeting seminars online?
Everyone is online now, seemingly all the time, so this question comes up a lot. However in our experience, the best way to truly change your money behaviors is seeing with your own eyes that you are not alone.
We are all human beings - feeling connected to others by proximity gives strength and positive feelings about the changes you want to make, even if you don’t know them personally. That’s why self-help groups the world over are groups, not just someone sitting on their own in a room. While we won’t rule out an online group seminar offering in the future, that’s not the plan right now.
Why do you only offer the free seminars in Orlando?
Purely because of geography. We’re a start-up, and traveling all over Florida (or the country) doesn’t work for us right now. But in the future, who knows? If you’re not local to Orlando FL but want to chat about your household budgeting please contact us and we will see how we can help. If you’re interested in a fee-based 1-on-1 coaching services package, wherever in America you reside, please reach out us via the form on our services page and we will send you more details.
Why isn’t your 1-on-1 budget coaching free too?
Charging for this part of our offering allows us to give you the 1-on-1 time you need, with no distractions. Having your own personal budget coach gives you someone who is completely committed to your change journey, and can help you get across your finish line. It’s also much quicker and easier than tackling it yourself (and it sounds cool when you tell your friends you have your own coach!)
If you have benefited from hiring other coaches in the past, or maybe you attended one of our seminars and are interested in taking your journey forward, 1-on-1 coaching is the best option for you! Take a look at our paid offerings here or contact us to learn more.
I’m interested in 1-on-1 budget coaching, but want to know more
Great! Please check out our services page for more details about our coaching services packages. We offer fee-based 1-on-1 budget coaching, but even then, the first hour is free so that one of our team members can get to know you and confirm that there’s a good mutual fit for paid coaching. We can also answer any further questions you may have at that point.
I’m in financial crisis - can you help?
If you are struggling with bankruptcy, repossession, Federal or State tax liens or are even facing homelessness due to money problems, our hearts truly go out to you. We are not the team who can help you, however many others can. Don’t give up hope, and reach out to your local government, place of worship or charity for support and next steps.
Are you certified?
Hmmm, certified in what? While there are corporate coaching certifications out there, holding one doesn’t necessarily mean that person will be an effective coach for you. Come to one of the seminars or reach out so we can set up a chat - both are free. If you don’t like what you hear, or you don’t gel with us personally, no problem at all. We can leave it at that. The choice is always yours - all it takes to find out is a little of your time.
Do you offer speaking engagements or corporate seminars?
We do! Please contact us and let us know what you are looking for!
What do you guys get out of all this?
Another great question! As many of you know, helping someone change their life and seeing the joy and happiness on their face when they succeed at something is thanks enough. Corny? Maybe, but the world could always use a little more altruism, and this is one way we have found to give back to the society we all live in together.
